Description
1930s Harry Wilken Clear Glass Bottle With Cap Federal Law Forbids, 8.5” Tall
This is a bottle from an estate collection that had been in storage from 1966-2017. The original collection was over 4000 bottles. The family that built this collection was deeply into historical preservation and conservation. They did their own digging, which included collecting all the of the paper travel memorabilia as they traveled across the American West looking for these old bottles (and insulators, and rocks – but we didn’t get those collections). In some cases, we have items that were prepared for going to shows, and then we have boxes and boxes of bottles that are “freshly dug”. Portrait embossed front, distillery buildings either side, Post Prohibition statement above, “Federal Law… this Bottle,” wheat stalks embossed on sides, names “Harry E Wilken Jr, Harry E Wilken Sr, William Wilken” in script near base, clean condition with some residue. Please see our other listings for many other bottles from this collection, as well as the many paper collectibles.
Bottle Size: 8.5″ x 4″ x 2″
