Description

1951 ALLOCATED METAL TOKEN GOOD FOR ONE FARE Bus Coach Transit Token Bronze 20mmThis token is not found in the public online catalogs at all, and does not appear to be previously offered on eBay. I did find one reference in the January 1951 Fare Box (pg 78), which noted John O. Nicolosi found 6 “Allocated Metal Tokens). They resemble ones made by Johnson Fare Box, but there’s no marks on the token to confirm this. If you have info, please send. This 1951 allocated metal token is a rare find that is good for one fare on a bus or coach transit system. It is made of bronze and measures 20mm in size. The token features a cut-out design and was used in the city of Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Despite being circulated, this token is in excellent condition and is a great addition to any collection of transit tokens or exonumia. With a unique Token ID that cannot be found in catalogs, this is a must-have for serious collectors. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history with this 1951 transit token.
