1953 NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY Train Bus Transit Token OSBORNE MINTThere were three mints that made these tokens. Of these, 24% came from the Osborne Mint. While Atwood-Coffee treats all of them the same, Token Catalog gives it a unique identifier shared with those made at the Meyer & Wenthe Mint.This vintage transit token from 1953 is a unique piece of history from the New York City Transit Authority. Measuring at 16mm, it features a cut out design and is made of brass with special marks of “G without downward corner”. It was in circulation from 1953-1970 and bears the token ID TC-664914; Atwood-Coffee NY 630 AO. The token is a great addition to any collection of exonumia or coins and paper money. It was manufactured in the United States and used in New York City, making it a sought-after item for collectors.
