1961 ROTHMAN OIL COMPANY Letter Envelope Stationary Greeley Colorado PHILLIPS 66This item is interesting because the cancelation date on the letter is September 23, 1961. However, a quick search of the records indicates that the company was not incorporated until October 26, 1961. Since the receiver of the letter, Mr. Schoondermark was a local historian, we can presume that he was preserving this as maybe the first letter sent out. The stamp is upside down, which I believe a signal of “I love you” (Mr. Schoondermark was happily married). Hard to decipher it all, but it is deceptively historic for those who know more about the local history.
