1963 THE MAXIMILIAN-BODMER COLLECTION Omaha Joslyn Art Museum Exhibit Brochure

This is a rare brochure from the Exhibit for the Paintings and Documents from the Maximilian Expedition To the Upper Missouri River, 1833-1834. Prince Maximilian, Scientist. Carl Bodmer, Artist. This copy came from a Fort Collins Historian who was a thoughtful collector of all sorts of things from books, to brochures, to bottles, to rocks. He was also a conservationist who had an eye for the artists to inspired others to action, and perhaps saw all things working together.

This was with other brochures and letters, and because he and his family kept detailed records of their travels (which were coast to coast), it is likely that they personally attended this exhibit and gathered all these things. Then, they put them in a manilla to be found again nearly 60 years later. The other items will be offered in our other listings.

The brochure measures 6″ x 9″
