ANTIQUE WINE CHAMPAGNE MINERAL WATER Whittled Olive Green Bottle Applied Top
This bottle is significantly heavier than others that we are selling – with identical dimensions. It is 5oz heavier, and you can feel the thickness of the glass. It’s also significantly darker olive green, to the point where it looks nearly black, even when backlit. Unique.
This is a bottle from an estate collection that had been in storage from 1966-2017. The original collection was over 4000 bottles. The family that built this collection was deeply into historical preservation and conservation. They did their own digging, which included collecting all the of the paper travel memorabilia as they traveled across the American West looking for these old bottles (and insulators, and rocks – but we didn’t get those collections). In some cases, we have items that were prepared for going to shows, and then we have boxes and boxes of bottles that are “freshly dug”.
