Vintage Authentic Royal Doulton Toby Philpots Character Mug Stein D5736 6.25”
Designed by Charles J. Noke. Issued 1937 – 1969. A “thirsty old soul” in an 18th century drinking song, Toby is thought by some to be the source of the traditional British toby jug, in which a character sits astride a barrel of ale. Popular opinion suggests his name is a derivation of the French top’e, to toast.No original box.
