VINTAGE PRINTING LETTERPRESS PRINTERS BLOCK CUT Plough & Hammer Communist Voting
Took a while to decipher this one, but it appears to be a Plough & Hammer, which is a lesser-known Marxist-Leninist symbol. But, when combined with the writing around the edge, it is clearly a political symbol urging voters to vote “straight ticket” for the party. Could not figure out if this was a Chicago or Illinois political party (where the print block came from), but there’s also signs it might be Irish. Didn’t have the time to dive down the rabbit hole, but it appears to be fairly unique. It was marked as “golf club and glove” by the previous owner, but I think that is just a bad guess. Pricing this for it’s uniqueness, as I don’t think there’s anything else like this around.
